“Standchen” is the fourth of fourteen lieder in the song cycle “Schwanengesang” by Franz Schubert. This collection was composed in 1828 and posthumously published in 1829. The song cycle used the poetry of two poets, Ludwig Rellstab and Heinrich Heine.
Transcribed for the Mill Ave Chamber Players during their 2018-2019 season.
Scored for woodwind quintet: flute, oboe, clarinet in B flat, horn, and bassoon and voice.
